Backstory:
Endymion was the crown prince of small elven kingdom on the prime material world of Laer, his family have ruled for thousands of years on account of their ties with powerful fey creatures, whose blood they share and who the elves revere as minor Gods. However, roughly a century ago Endymion grew bored with life in the court of his parents, the political intrigues and courtley pomp and ceremony and decided to leave to find his own path. Endymion found his calling by getting back in touch, as he saw it, with the more primal nature of his people, becoming the elemental aspect of the hunter. He has become a dark legend among his own people by spending all his time hunting and slaying powerful beings and monsters of every variety, for the sheer thrill and exhiliration of it. Endymion lives for the hunt and only feels truly alive when matching his cunning and prowess against worthy prey, an infinitely more honest and natural existence, as he sees it, than the artifice and comfort of life as an elven crown prince, or the duties of eventually becoming king. His taste for variety can never be satisfied for long, and so it was a natural step to leave his home world eventually and strike out into the multiverse, teeming with new worlds to explore and all manner of powerful species to hunt and slay, he need never be bored again.
Endymion is a tall and strikingly handsome elf, some might even say beautiful in an effeminate way, were his aspect not so sinister and predatory. He has long, platinum blond hair and his eyes are pure black orbs, a feature of his fey blood. He can most often be seen wearing an emormous black lion pelt as a cloak, the creature's head and upper jaw over his right shoulder, or occasionally pulled up over his head, and it's great paws crossed over his chest. This is the pelt of the lion god Yokul, who Endmyion slew in one of his earlier hunts and from whence he was given his epithet ''The Black Lion''.

Re: Endymion - Prince in Exile
I have no problem with this PC at all, however.
1) We need to make sure the rangers do not step upon each others toes, that could only lead to bad feeling.
2) You need a character picture.
3) You must be aware that often, mounts and animal companions won't be able to join the group.
4) Being a prince, you may want knowledge, nobility and some small level of diplomacy. 2 ranks in each and I would as a DM assume you adequate enough. 3 ranks for someone that seems to belong around a court and 4 ranks for someone experienced in boring courtly matters. May help add to the PC, even if he doesn't enjoy/like it, he may have been taught and capable of doing so.
5) Knowledge, Monsters maybe an option as a skill. As a varied hunter, he may have a good idea of various beasts and monsters and the skill may help him identify weaknesses in unfamiliar monsters. That is me as a DM, don't presume other DMs will do so. But I expect they'll entertain it.
6) As a hunter, should he not have favoured enemy (animal) somewhere? Just wondering.
7) I would suggest changing Improved Animal Companion or Improved Initiative for Point Blank Shot, so you're lined up for Precise Shot. Nothing worse than a -4 attack modifier when shooting into melee and I personally as a DM rule that misses by 4 point or more (without the feat) have a percentage chance to hit your allies by accident. You could however switch both out for Point Black and Precise.
Otherwise seems good to me, Mike will do the rest.

Re: Endymion - Prince in Exile
Ok, I think the skill points thing was a good idea, I dropped the stealth skills to free up the skill points, we have more than enough stealth capable characters in the party as it is anyhow.
As for the picture, I have one in mind, but its in a book I have so I'll need to scan it in.

Re: Endymion - Prince in Exile
Anyway you wanna do it bro. You got a while to work on it.
Enjoy your new picture :)
PS. When I said previously missing by 4 points or more (without point blank) have a chance to hit allies. I mean misses BETWEEN 1 and 4, below is fine. the 1-4 area represents the miss due to not being trained to aim precisely.

Re: Endymion - Prince in Exile
I mirror the opinion stated above.
Don't think us rangers will tread on each others toes at all the way it's looking. I'm specialised in Melee anyways and i'm more into Planar exploration and knowledge than the wild. I think we'll off-suit each other really well.
Another thing to consider is dropping Improved Animal Companion due to the way in which we play. Your companion maybe not feature alot... That's why i've not fleshed mine out but have stats on standby just incase. Velenur never got to use his Familiar, that was more used for RP purposes, which was fine.
Slightly confused as to how you have Favored Enemy:Dragons +4 then Favored Enemy: Magical Beasts +2 ... both values should be the same unless you have improved favored enemy, and even then the increase is only +1 taking both to +3 but beside from these, a nice start on your Ranger.
Welcome back Oliver

This looks good to me, though I echo my colleagues thoughts on mounted combat and animal companions. Somehow the idea of him wandering about Sigil with a massive Elk (riding the elk?) seems mighty odd.

Really? Don't all manner of fiends walk around Sigil openly? As well as all kinds of other freaks and monsters. Surely an elf with a big elk can't be that weird.

Re: Endymion - Prince in Exile
I guess that's a fair point.
Anyway, it's up to you. You are quite welcome to have the elk, as far as I am concerned. Don't let it crap in the street where the Harmonium can see

Re: Endymion - Prince in Exile
Right there is the equipment done as well, also I decided to go with what Ian said and went straight for precise shot, I think that will be a very important feat for a character that is going to be shooting most of the time.
I am having trouble with the picture though, does anyone know how to cut part of a picture out of a PDF file and make it a new image?

Re: Endymion - Prince in Exile
I know im always the bearer of bad news these days but outsiders, evil probably wont do what you hope it will, ie, effect all the fiends in the multiverse, all evil NPCs, etc etc. For the exact same reason I havent gone for a weapon of evil outsider bane so we didnt have this headache. The table of options is obviously built with a vanilla prime campaign in mind only.
Favoured enemy, 'Tanarri' is cool mind, as is 'Yugoloth' if you like. - Still well worth it too. Generally speaking major races are one type of enemy on their own. Ask if you need some more examples.

Not all evil NPCs, I thought it would affect fiends, but you say I must choose a narrower subtype of outsider?
I think Yugoloths then, since that accursed Marraenoloth was one of those and that's the kind of petty, over the top vengefulness that I associate with Fey. Also it will be funny since Zammael is sworn to serve Yugoloths and now I'm going to be specialize in killing them.

No problems at all with that, Yugo's it is. How the other PC's might feel about it is by the by.

Re: Endymion - Prince in Exile
I don't see an issue with taking Favoured Enemy: Neutral Evil Outsider.
That would still apply to all Yugoloth, but also other outsiders that were of the same alignment. I'm also happy for you to take favoured "planes". That would allow you to pick a plane and get the same bonuses no matter what you fight, as long as you're on that plane.
All your choice.

I reckon Endy is either NE or CE. Not that it really matters.
