Erwan of Corwell
Kings Scout
Human Male, Thief 3rd. Aged 23.
Background
Erwan is a bastard born of a scullery maid and King Kendrick of Norland, conceived when the monarch was still a Duke waiting on his succession. The boy was removed from the mother (who subsequently disappeared) and then quietly integrated into the castle household under the care of the notorious Marlon Roche; Captain of the Black Stripes; the King's secretive spy organisation. Inhabiting a position somewhere between commoner and noble the lad was brought up and educated in the arts of the shady side of diplomacy under Roche's tutalage and proved to be something of a star pupil. When he was old enough, Erwan was made aware of his parentage although the wider secret remained mostly intact. However, nothing could be done about Erwan's unlikely resemblance to certain royals and some inexplicable help from high places resulted in some rumours going around court in his early teens. Understandably enough, Erwan is and has never been exactly one of the Queen's favourites...
Upon hitting puberty he began to travel further afield with the spymaster, on 'diplomatic missions' to the other Duchy's. On his 16th birthday Erwan graduated to the full status of Black Stripe, a position held by a dozen or so men and women scattered around the various islands of the kingdom. It is assumed Erwan is being groomed to take over from Roche as Captain of the Black Stripes when the spymasters time finally comes; although naturally there would be a number of skilled Stripes vying for the post.
Current
Two summers past Erwan struck up a relationship with a lovely yet peasant farm girl named Ellette, about half a day's ride out of Caer Corwell. A whirlwind romance led to the the pair falling very much in love and Erwan made plans to elope, leaving the life of a state sanctioned murderer behind. Unbeknownst to him the spymaster was of course one step ahead and caught him in the act of preparing to disappear, also in possession of a quantity of the kings gold. Cornered and presented with an ultimatum, Erwan agreed to give up his plans for a quiet life in return for his transgression being forgiven and the girl and family being left unharmed. Erwan left Ellette alone and wondering at their rendezvous and a week later she was sent word that her lover had died in a tragic shipwrecking and so that was that. Erwan knows that while spymaster's network remains that he has no hope of running anywhere, even should he be willing to forswear his solemn oath to Roche that he would never speak to her again...

Two masterwork weapons and a set of masterwork armour; because he's a member of the black stripes; one weapon could count as 5 throwing weapons or 20 arrows/bolts.
A small selection of low grade poisons; left over from previous work
200 gp to spend on whatever else you want; anything left is starting cash.
You don't need to purchase a personal horse, you can get one when need be, although you obviously can if you wish.
Two masterwork weapons and a set of masterwork armour; because he's a member of the black stripes; one weapon could count as 5 throwing weapons or 20 arrows/bolts.
